Victory Outreach is an international church-oriented Christian ministry called to the task of evangelising and discipling the hurting people of the world with the message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ. This call involves a commitment to plant and develop churches, rehabilitation homes and training centers in strategic cities of the world. Victory Outreach inspires and instills within people the desire to fulfill their potential in life with a sense of dignity, belonging and destiny. Victory Outreach works cooperatively with others of mutual purpose in accomplishing the task before us.
Victory Outreach International was founded by a man who knows the pain of those trapped in the inner city because he lived it. Sonny Arguinzoni grew up on the mean streets of New York. At the age of 12, he ran with a gang and carried a homemade gun. At 15, he was a hopeless heroin addict. He was incarcerated ten times for crimes committed to support his habit. In the midst of this darkness, Sonny saw the light. Through the help of a faith-based organization founded by David Wilkerson and the tough-love of a notorious gang leader, Nicky Cruz, Sonny beat his addiction. Yet, it wasn’t enough to unburden himself. Where others wanted to lock up the criminals in the inner city, sonny wanted to set them free. In 1967, he came to the barrio in Los Angeles and started reaching out to the drug addicts and gang members. Victory Outreach was born.Originally dubbed “The Addict Church,” Sonny developed a rigorous rehabilitation program to lead junkies off the street and into productive lives. Victory Outreach grew from one humble barrio church to a worldwide network of over 500 churches and ministries. These vibrant facilities help men and women beat substance abuse, leave gangs and prostitution and discover their unique purpose in life. Victory Outreach has centres in 24 countries from Mexico to the Netherlands to the Philippines.Pastor Arguinzoni has received numerous awards from government agencies including Presidents Bush, Reagan and Clinton. He has also received praise from national and local law enforcement agencies. He has authored three books: "Sonny", "Treasures Out Of Darkness", and "Internalizing The Vision".
